South East Students Express Sympathy To The EFCC And Promise To Combat Cybercrime.
In Light Of The Untimely Passing Of One Of It's Agents, Aminu Sahabi Salisu, The National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) South East Zone Has Sent The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) It's Deepest Sympathy.

Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, a suspected online scammer, is accused of killing the assistant superintendent on January 17, 2025, while conducting an official operation in Awka, Anambra State. The student Body Apologized for the event and promise to work with the EFCC to raise awareness of cybercrime among students during a visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on January 24th, which was facilitated by Charles Obinna Ijeomah, the NANS South East coordinator.
" We sincerely regret your officer's passing," Ijeomah stated. It is our duty as students leaders to inform and aqaint students with the risks associated with Cybercrime. We assure you that such activities do not represent the South East as a whole, and we condemn the assassination of the EFCC agent. Our values are integrity and hard effort. Ijeomah added that in order to expand anti-corruption campaigns and awareness initiative's to college campuses around the region, students' union intends to collaborate with the EFCC.
He gave the commission his word that the students would be willing to assist in it's efforts to reduce financial crimes. On behalf of the EFCC's executive Chairman, Secretary Muhammad Hammajoda thanked the commission for the visit and emphasized the importance of teamwork in the fight against corruption. Ijeomah also said that the students' association intends to collaborate with the EFCC to bring Anti-Corruption campaigns and awareness programs to college campuses throughout the region.
