Following A Recent Worldwide Tech Failure, Ghana's Banks, Savings And Loan Organizations, And Rural banks Were Warned By The Africa Center For Digital Transformation ( ACDT ) About The Heightened Danger Of Cybercrime.
According to a statement issued by the Executive director, Kwasi Atuahene, the cybersecurity company Crowdstrike's flawed software update caused extensive system failures that affected several industries worldwide, including Banking, Aviation, and Healthcare. Following this event, Ghanian financial institutions have received a warning from ACDT on a fraudulent Crowdstrike Hotfix update that is making rounds online.
Ghanian Banks are advised by ACDT to implement redundancies and backup systems in order to lessen the effects of the recent worldwide IT outage and strengthen their ability to withstand such catastrophes in the future.
