Masimo Manufacturing Sites Targeted in Cyberattack

A company in California, Masimo Corporation, which makes health technology and electronics, experienced a cyberattack that affected its factories.

On April 27, Masimo discovered that someone accessed their computer network without permission and reported this incident to the SEC. 

To manage the situation, Masimo took immediate action by separating the systems that were affected and implementing measures to contain the issue. They also called in cybersecurity experts from outside the company to help investigate and manage the situation. Additionally, they informed law enforcement authorities.

Due to the cyberattack, some of Masimo's manufacturing facilities couldn't operate at their normal pace. This disruption caused delays in processing, fulfilling, and shipping customer orders.

Masimo has been actively working to fix the affected parts of its network, restore normal business activities, and reduce the impact of the cyberattack.

The investigation into what happened is still ongoing, and Masimo hasn't confirmed if any important or sensitive data was stolen.

Based on what they have shared, it seems likely that they were targeted by a ransomware attack, though no specific group has taken responsibility for it so far.

Masimo stated that the attack only affected their on-premises network and clarified that their cloud-based systems were not impacted.
